LOST: The Musical

When I first heard about a Kickstarter campaign to fund a LOST parody musical I chuckled at the possibilities and left it at that.  However, as the days progressed I arrived at the conclusion that it was something that I needed to be involved in.  When I noticed that one of the Kickstarter rewards  included an Associate Producer credit, my ego could not be denied.  Having my name "up in lights" on a LOST creative endeavour is a real thrill.

Several supporting characters from the show were on hand for opening night -- Andrea Gabriel (Nadia), Sam Anderson (Bernard), Kimberley Joseph (Cindy) and M.C. Gainey (Mr. Friendly).  Jorge Garcia and Bex Mader (Charlotte) also attended later performances.

One-sheet for the show

I probably won't make it down the LA for the show, but I was able to pass on my free tickets to some of the LOSTie pals in the area.  They attended the October 11th show and by all accounts loved it.

All of the Kickstart contributors have been added to a "candidate wall" at the theatre, and I was ecstatic to find out that I am candidate number 8!

I've heard feedback from several other LOST fans (including Jo Garfein) and it is overwhelmingly positive.  I am happy (and relieved) that the show has been received in the spirit it was intended, and equally pleased to hear that as buzz builds the theatre is starting to sell out for the weekend shows.

Paley Center LOST exhibit

The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills held a LOST exhibit over the summer of 2014.  A few items from my collection were on loan for the exhibit including a Juliet blouse, one of Jin's handcuffs, an Exposé chairback, and one of Charlie's T-shirts.

The exhibit was conducted in association with Cancer Gets LOST, the charity organization run by Jo Garfein and Jared Wong.  Many of the items on display were auctioned off in September after the exhibit had closed.

I was thrilled to be a part of this event!

Oceanic 815 water bottle

These water bottles were produced for the official LOST auction held in August 2010.  Although I wasn't there in person, I was online most of the weekend checking out pictures and videos and also participating in the auction itself.

LOST Final Season T-shirt

Although I wasn't there in person, this T-shirt was sold at the Sunset on the Beach screening of LOST's season 6 premiere in Oahu.

Ian, one of my LOST pals from across the pond, created an awesome graphic based on Jacob's lighthouse.  Along with the candidates that were revealed on the show, Ian added the names of dozens of LOST fans with whom he had interacted via his LOST website.  I was delighted to find myself listed as candidate 91!  Ian provides some additional background on the genesis of the design here.  Additional art for LOST, Dr. Who, Fringe, and others can be found on his personal website.

This was the shirt I was wearing when I landed in Oahu back in July 2011.  Good times!

DHARMA water bottle

Somewhere along the way I picked up this DHARMA-branded water bottle.  I'm not sure now if this was fan-made or came from the ABC store.

LOST Costume: Swan Station Patch

I was very excited to win a Swan Station patch at the Cancer Gets LOST auction.  It is an authentic patch made for the show (though not used on screen).  It was originally a gift from Roland Sanchez who served as costume designer on the show from season 2 onward.  Mr. Sanchez also worked on the late, great Alcatraz, and currently is part of the Revolution production team.

This type of patch was worn by both Desmond and Kelvin during their time saving the world.
