'The End' by Joshua Budich

One of my favourite LOST prints of the year is entitled The End, by the artist Joshua Budich. It is a striking portrait of five characters who play key roles in the series finale -- Jack, Hurley, Sawyer, Kate, and the Man in Black.

High marks on this print for composition, colour, and the superb characterizations.

Jack is portrayed with a wonderful sense of determination, and just a hint of sad acceptance of his fate.

Although fearful, Hurley understands deep down that he also has a role to play and must summon all his strength to do so.

Sawyer was beaten down physically and emotionally, and his painful journey is worn on his face alongside his hatred for the Man in Black.

This has to be the most faithful portrait of Kate I've seen in a print. It captures both her unpretentious beauty and her strength.

If this isn't evil, I don't know what is. This is the stuff that nightmares are made of.

Aside from the fantastic portraits, the poster also features an attractive DHARMAesque background throughout.

This edition of 75 prints sold out rather quickly. Demand was so great that the artist released a silver variant print a few weeks later. I have print #72 of the first edition.
